چکیده
Phytomedicines are becoming more popular in treatment of infectious diseases worldwide. Cinnamomum verum essential oil (EO) has been used as a therapeutic alternative for various diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity C. leaf EO against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus Klebsiella pneumoniae. Effect vapor on planktonic cells was determined using microatmosphere technique. CLSI M7-A10 method employed Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) Bactericidal (MBC) experiments. established biofilms quantified visualized XTT Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). In-vitro toxicity evaluated Human Keratinocytes (HaCaT). Chemical analysis done Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). All tested strains were sensitive cinnamon vapor. exhibited 0.5 1.0 mg/mL MIC MBC all test strains. Biofilm Eradication Concentrations (MBIC50 MBEC) 4.0 mg/mL. SEM indicated cellular shrinkages, cell wall damages, decreased biofilm densities. Cinnamon didn't show any HaCaT at concentration tested. Eugenol most abundant compound oil. shows an with minimal host.

In vitro Evaluation of Methylxanthines and Some Antibiotics: Interaction against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Background: The development of resistance to antimicrobial agents is a major problem in chemotherapy. Finding agents which potentiate antimicrobial activity could be favorable. There are some reports that methylxanthines changed the inhibitory effect of antibacterial agents. Thus, possible synergistic effect of methylxanthines, aminophylline and caffeine on some antibiotics, carbenicillin, ceft...
متن کاملAntibacterial performance of MELITININ - BMAP27 hybrid peptide against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains
Abstract Background and purpose: Multiple drug-resistant (MDR) bacterial strains have spread in different parts of hospitals. The aim of this study was to design and synthesize an effective hybrid peptide by combining different parts of two peptides to achieve the highest antibacterial activity and its inhibitory effect against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. Materia...
متن کاملIn Vitro Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity of Lippia alba Essential Oil, Citral, and Carvone against Staphylococcus aureus
In vitro antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of the Lippia alba essential oil and its major components (citral and carvone) against Staphylococcus aureus were investigated. Essential oils (LA1EO, LA2EO, and LA3EO) were extracted from the aerial parts of three L. alba specimens by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer. Minimum Inhibitory Concent...
متن کاملIn vitro antibacterial properties of magnesium metal against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.
Bacterial infections are a costly sequela in any wound. The corrosion properties of 0.15, 0.30, 0.45 and 0.60 g of Mg metal were determined in Mueller-Hinton broth by serially measuring the Mg(2+) concentrations and pH over 72 h. In addition, the effect of Mg metal, increased Mg(2+) concentration and alkaline pH on the in vitro growth of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococc...
متن کاملIn vitro activity of garlic oil and four diallyl sulphides against antibiotic-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
The in vitro antibacterial activities of garlic oil and four diallyl sulphides naturally occurring in this oil were studied against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae (total 237 clinical isolates). Garlic oil at 4 x MIC could reduce original inoculum to <or=2 log(10) in both P. aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae within 8 h. The MIC values of four diallyl sulphides against these two path...
